Chevening Scholars of the 2016/2017 Alumni group, paid a courtesy call on the new Ghana High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Papa Owusu-Ankomah at the Ghana High Commission on Wednesday the 5th of July, 2017. The call was to officially welcome His Excellency and to generate rapport. A welcome cake was also presented to HE Papa Owusu-Ankomah on behalf of the group.
Included in the alumni group was the Chevening-GUBA candidate – Naa Ayelesa Quaynor-Mettle. GUBA’s partnership with Chevening was to promote Ghanaian participation in the premier, international leadership awards scheme, funded by the UK government.
This led to a nationwide search of academic and trailblazing Ghanaian students seeking to study in the UK. Ms Quaynor-Mettle studied for a Masters in Globalisation, Business & Development through the Chevening scholarship.
His Excellency charged the global scholars to be resilient in their pursuit of change and development in Ghana and beyond. #IamChevening #CheveningGUBA
