Dentaa Amoateng, CEO of the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards has won the Most Innovative African Woman in Europe Awards!! The prestigious African Women in Europe awards is setup to reward and acknowledge influential African women in Europe. Dentaa came against fierce contest from fellow nominees: Justina Mutale, Priscilla Musonda and Lydia Kemunto Cutler, all influential women in Europe. Dentaa’s accomplishments to date played a vital part in her nomination and win.
Her strong involvement within the Ghanaian community and her call for the development of Ghana are all conducive to her win. Through the call for development, the GUBA awards was setup as a platform to highlight Ghanaian talent and to recognize members of the community that have impacted on the overall development and elevation of Ghana, especially within the United Kingdom.
GUBA is working towards improving communities and the newly formed GUBA Foundation is geared towards the provision of support for autistic families. Dentaa realized the need to have an organisation that creates autism awareness in the African, especially Ghanaian community, as many children and families have not been afforded the opportunity and facilities to aid their needs. Autism is also stereotyped and many people are uneducated and unaware of the effects it has on children and their families. The foundation aims to raise money to fund the facilities and essentials for autistic children. The GUBA Foundation is also responsible for creating one of the first Autism adverts dedicated to African children. Please see advert HERE.
Aside from GUBA, Dentaa is also the Manager of the Ghana Black Stars football team captain and Al-Ain footballer Asamoah Gyan. Her accomplishments gained admiration from FIFA President Sepp Blatter as she was invited to present a statue in memory of Arthur Wharton, the first black professional footballer. She was first introduced to the viewing public in 2006 with her hit TV show: ‘The Dentaa Show’
“Nothing is impossible and you can achieve anything if you have a vision and a strategy” is her mantra and she has demonstrated that there are no limits to her abilities.
