T.V presenter, Actress, Entrepreneur and award winner Dentaa – famously known as the founder of GUBA (Ghana UK Based Achievement) Awards will be hosting the launch of Benjani Mwaruwari Foundation in Zimbabwe on the 25th and 26th May 2012
Benjani Mwaruwari who currently plays for Portsmouth is building a football academy to secure future opportunities for the youth of Zimbabwe. The funds that will be raised on the night will provide access to coaching, training, mentoring and educational programs to underprivileged children between the ages 6-18 in Zimbabwe.
The Launch will start with a formal Charity Dinner which will then be followed by a testimonial match taking place on the 26th May 2012
at the national sports stadium in Harare.
Confirmed players on the day include; Emmanuel Adebayor of Manchester City (on loan to Tottenham), Yaya & Kolo Toure of Manchster City as well as football legends such as Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha from Nigeria.
Having played major roles in the TV and radio sector and hosted prestigious events such as Miss Ghana UK and the Ghana Music Festival, Dentaa added:
“Benjani Mwaruwari Foundation makes provisions for youngsters under 18 years old to help in areas of financial difficulties which are hindering their progress. Coaching youngsters locally in football and providing educational programs will help build communities and improve health within disadvantaged areas. This will be the first of its kind in Zimbabwe. The Academy will unite communities and enable talented sportsmen and women to achieve their full potential.”
Dentaa is the personal manager of Ghana and Sunderland striker, currently on loan at Al ain, Asamoah Gyan who is also launching his charity foundation next year to provide clean water to remote areas in Ghana and young girl child education programme.
The event is being organised by Speak to Dentaa specialising in project management, consulting and PR for African companies and events.
