Rachel Yankee MBE has confirmed her attendance at this years GUBA Awards. The Arsenal and England Star who is of Ghanaian heritage has had a blistering career with Arsenal Ladies winning 6 League Cups, 9 FA Cups and being part of the first team outside of Germany to win a Women’s European Cup.
Rachel is one of the key names that elevates the ladies game which has seen. She also is a large promoter of grass routes women’s football and runs a number of coaching sessions throughout London.
In 2006 she was awarded an MBE for services to football and so her nomination for a GUBA Award comes as no surprise. Yankee finds herself in the Best Sports Personality Category along with the likes of Asamoah Gyan and Philips Idowu.
